While sending you our best wishes and warm greetings, I am pleased to invite you on behalf of the Organizing Committee to participate in the “Investors’ Forum 2006” to be held on September 14-15, 2006 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
This is the third foreign investors’ forum organized be the Government of Mongolia since 1998 and to be organized with a specific focus on the economic sectors, such as agro and food industry, light industry, infrastructure (energy and construction) and tourism to promote and demonstrate the potential and opportunities existing in these particular sectors.
Mongolian mining, construction and communication sectors are booming today and attracting investors’ attention, particularly mining sector. Apart from above sectors, there are other sectors with enormous potential to attract investment in agro and food industry, light and heavy industry, infrastructure/ICT, energy and construction/ and tourism that remains untapped. I am delighted to inform you that since July 2005, Mongolia became eligible for exporting to the EU member market without any duties and quantitative restrictions to supply over 7200 product items to all 25 EU member countries. The Government of Mongolia has enacted the laws related to the operation of free economic zones and industrial parks and investors operating in free economic and trade zones and industrial parks will be exempted from import and export taxes as well as being offered fast and efficient services.

I have mentioned only few measures that have been taken by the Government of Mongolia to improve the business and investment climate, and I do believe that this forum will enable in-sights of these sectors and provide you with the latest and first hand information on what Mongolia has done to create a better climate for business, while acquainting you with potential investment opportunities in the above mentioned sectors, and through bilateral meetings you will be enabled to team up with Mongolian business people.
