FOREIGN INVESTMENT AND FOREIGN TRADE AGENCY (FIFTA) OF MONGOLIA RECEIVED THE INTERNATIONAL QUALITY SUMMIT AWARD IN THE GOLD CATEGORY
The presentation of the International Quality Summit Award took place on May 25th, 2009, in New York Marriott Marquis Convention Hall. The companies from 54 countries from Europe, America, Africa and Asia received the International Quality Summit Award as recognition of their achievements in spreading Quality culture. International Quality Summit was organized by Business Initiative Directions (BID), and the main sponsor of the event was ImarPress, which covered the news on the presentation of the awards through its more than 26 publications in English, French, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese.
It was of special international significance for the awarded companies and organizations to join BIDs historic group of the most important companies in the world distinguished by their commitment to quality. Among these outstanding companies are: Ansaldo Energy from Italy, Turner Construction from USA, Totalgas Industry from Romania, Lao Airlines as well as mining and energy company lead by scientist, inventor Dr. Bohdan Zakiewicz, a Nobel Prize nominee.
Founder of Total Quality Management QC100 Model, and President of leading private organization working with over 173 companies worldwide - Business Initiative Directions, Mr. Jose E.Prieto presented the International Quality Summit Award to each organization as an entity, for corporate achievement, to recognize leadership, quality, innovation, excellence, technology, customer service and prestige.
During his opening speech of award ceremony, Mr. Jose E.Prieto, President of BID, noted that the awarded companies are symbols of commitment to leadership, technology and innovation which make them models for other companies their sectors.
Press release issued by BID pointed out that Government implementing agency of Mongolia for the promotion and facilitation of foreign direct investment, FIFTA, has been awarded with the International Quality Summit Award in the Gold Category during the 23rd International Quality Summit Convention held in New York.
International Quality Summit Convention was held since 1986, and a voting process is carried out during the BID World Congress with meetings in Paris, London, Geneva, Frankfurt, Madrid and New York gathering companies from 94 countries over the past ten months. The final decision to award the organization is made by the IQS Selection Committee, based on the following criteria of the principles of the QC100 TQM: Customer Satisfaction; Communication Strategies; Benchmarking; Information and Data Analysis; Leadership; Planning and Decision-making; Human Resources; Continuing Education and Training; Processes and Production; Financial Outcome; Business Results; as well as ISO 9000.
Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade Agency of Mongolia has received the International Quality Summit Award, while it has been previously awarded with Global Runner-Up award by the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) in 2002, and Award fro Excellence by Newsweek Magazine in 2006 respectively.
