Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade Agency of Mongolia, in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Mongolia, the Embassy of Mongolia in New Delhi, the Confederation of Indian Industries, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India successfully organized The Second India-Mongolia Business Forum on September 14th , 2009, in Mumbai, India. Over 50 business delegates from Mongolia and 80 business delegates from India took part in the Forum. The Forum focused on the mining, agriculture, medical production and information technology sectors. H.E. Mr. Ts. Elbegdorj, the President of Mongolia and Mr. Saijan Jindal, the President of The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, delivered opening remarks at the Forum. Mr. Dilip Dandekar, the head of India-Mongolia Business Council at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry also the Honorary Council of Mongolia in Mumbai delivered welcoming speech and H.E. Mr. S.Batbold, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Mongolia also spoke at the event on Mongolia-Indian trade and economic cooperation. Mr. Z.Battushig, Vice Chairman of Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade Agency, delivered speech on current India-Mongolia investment cooperation and opportunities.
The Forum provided valuable information on investment opportunities in both countries, connected Indian Mongolian business people and opened significant opportunities of cooperation within our two countries. It is observed from the forum and bilateral meetings, there is great interest to study more and invest in Mongolia from Indian side.
As part of the Forum, we organized site visits for the Mongolian delegation in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Bodhigaya, Agra and Mumbai area to meet with private companies and Indian Government agencies.
Within frame of the Second India-Mongolia Business forum Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade Agency had signed on the Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation with the Confederation of Indian Industries and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
