The Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade Agency of Mongolia successfully organized The Fifth U.S.-Mongolia Business Forum in cooperation with the Department of Commerce of the United States, Ministry of Food Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia, and the Embassy of Mongolia in Washington D.C. on January 12nd, 2010.
The largest group from Mongolia, among the last five forums, over 60 delegates from Mongolia met with delegates from the United States to discuss how the two countries can better work together. A goal as delivered by the various speakers is to see more U.S. companies investing in Mongolia.
H.E. Mr. Ts. Shinebayar, Member of the Parliament of Mongolia and Ms. Zhen Gong Cross, Head of Mongolian Affairs, International Trade Administration of
the U.S. Department of Commerce delivered opening speech for the forum. Mr. Ira Kasoff, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia of the U.S. Department of Commerce delivered speech on U.S. Trade Policy Towards Mongolia and Mr. Z.Battushig, Vice Chairman of Foreihn Investment and Foreign Trade Agency of Mongolia also spoke about Mongolias Foreign Investment Policy, Foreign Investment in Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Sector
This year's Forum focused on the agricultural sector, including agricultural products, machinery, and technology. The Forum co-located with AG CONNECT Expo 2010 (January 12-15, 2010), an agriculture trade show hosted by the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. Forum attendees had full access to the AG CONNECT Expo show and an opportunity to see the latest innovations in agricultural technologies and services. The Mongolian delegation is one of 20 that arrived in Orlando, and the largest, with 16 of international group organized by the Department of Commerce.
The Mongolian delegates met with various companies to discuss agricultural opportunities and investments during the AG CONNECT Expo. The group had prioritized its greatest needs and prepared a detailed list of projects in which they seek global investors.
